As a pro-bono Lead Designer, I helped kickstart the project alongside the founding developer team. My primary role involved initiating and managing the core design effort, including authoring the first set of design documentation, outlining game structure, learning mechanics, and interaction flows for VR. I coordinated closely with Unity developers to ensure that design goals translated smoothly into functional prototypes, with a focus on intuitive spatial interaction, accessibility, and user agency. I also helped define key gameplay pillars and systemized the design of the early spellcasting mechanics, object interactions, and UI layout within VR constraints.
VR Usability: Designing mechanics and interfaces that feel natural, legible, and comfortable in virtual space — especially for younger audiences.
Educational Balance: Merging playful discovery with meaningful learning objectives without breaking immersion.
Limited Resources: Working within a lean, early-stage team required setting up clear, scalable documentation and guiding design direction without full-time resources.
Remote Collaboration: Coordinating across countries and time zones using async documentation and modular planning.
